The "PEVENSEY 10" is 10' - 0" long and 4' - 6" at its widest point. She will only need 5" of water with an average load of 2 adults, a picnic or fishing gear and a small outboard motor. Her dry weight comes out at around 80lb (36kg) depending on how she is built. Her main use is as a fresh water fishing boat for use on lakes, canals and rivers etc. One was recently built as a picnic boat for use on a canal with canopy fitted too. She is built in 6mm ply to keep weight down and has optional buoyancy built-in under each seat. A full length keel strip is fitted to the bottom along with simple timber outer runners to help protect it when beaching. She is easily driven by a small 2hp or 3hp petrol outboard or an electric outboard can be fitted for motoring.
Although, on paper, it is possible for this boat to be carried on a roof rack of a larger car, she is more easily handled, launched and recovered by trailer.
